September 2016
ATS was awarded a contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to perform management services at various military facilities in southern and south central California. The $5.9 million contract started in October and includes tank and oil-water separator cleaning, recycling of wash water, and various other onsite hazardous and non-hazardous waste management activities at the military bases in the region.

May 2016
ATS concluded a successful certification audit for the International Cyanide Management Council. The audit targeted areas such as security, training, emergency response and operational management, and ATS passed with no deficiencies. As an ICMC certified company, ATS can legally manage cyanide-containing products as part of the approved supply chain.

March 2016
Construction of the ATS Express container cleaning facility is completed, allowing the company to store and clean over a thousand trailers, isotainers, frac tanks and boxes per month. The facility is expected to add approximately thirty new jobs to the Pasadena area in its first year of operation. The addition of the new facility leverages ATS’ best-in-class work process, safety and compliance systems in order to consolidate and better serve the largely fragmented frac tank and box washing business while adding a new high-profile player to the Gulf Coast region for trailer and isotainer cleaning.


November 2015
ATS launches Express Rail as the first new business line for ATS Express Services utilizing the new facilities acquired earlier in the year. The new “Express” track will allow ATS to perform commodity and general purpose tankcar cleaning, as well as hopper cleaning and light repairs, in much larger volumes than was possible in the ATS Specialty Cleaning Facility. The Express track adds fifteen operating spots to ATS’ rail service capabilities.

ATS is pleased to announce the addition of Steve Martin as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Steve brings decades of rail and logistics experience to the team and is charged with directing the growth strategy of ATS into all aspects of rail and container management. Mr. Martin’s leadership, depth of knowledge and industry expertise will help take ATS sales and customer service to a new level and will be instrumental in the successful launch of ATS Express Services.

January 2015
ATS acquires 5.9 acres of land adjacent to its Pasadena Specialty Cleaning Facility and negotiates a long-term lease for an additional 6 acres of land, 25,000 square feet of warehouse space, and a 30,000 foot facility in order to launch a new business line – ATS Express Services. The new additions bring the total ATS Pasadena footprint to approximately 28 acres and will allow ATS to build a state-of-the-art tank wash in order to service the high-volume, commodity cleaning market.

ATS Hires New Chief Financial Officer
Andy Lyons joins ATS as Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for overall accounting and financial reporting, corporate administration, and management of financial resources. He brings eighteen years of professional experience in public accounting and in industry environments, including ten years on the executive management teams of private and publicly held companies in real estate and manufacturing industries. Mr. Lyons is a Texas Certified Public Accountant and received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Houston, Clear Lake.

ATS Opens Hawaii Office Following Award of Multi-Year $8.2 Million Military Waste Contract
ATS has opened a new government services office located at:

The new office will service the waste disposal needs of the Hawaii Naval installations, including Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The company has assembled an experienced team to head up the new contract with occasional support from the mainland.

ATS Successfully Completes Waste Removal and Tanker Cleaning from Abandoned Site
ATS was contacted by a cleanup consultant working under direction of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regarding removal and cleaning of eight abandoned tank trailers containing varying quantities of unknown waste materials. The site operator had been found guilty of illegally storing and handling hazardous waste without appropriate permits. ATS field service personnel were mobilized to secure the site and characterize the waste. ATS technicians repackaged the waste allowing transport to a permitted disposal facility, and the trailers were towed to ATS Pasadena cleaning facility for decontamination.

ATS Provides Heat Exchanger Cleaning at its Pasadena Cleaning Facility
ATS was contacted on short notice to step in as a subcontractor where another contractor had failed. Refinery turnarounds typically involve very tight timelines with little margin for error when it comes to providing cleaning services related to equipment taken down during the turnaround. Given short notice, ATS was able to mobilize equipment to provide exchanger bundle transportation and cleaning to meet a tight timeline for the turnaround customer. Onsite third-party inspection provided quality control ensuring the cleaning process met the customer requirements.

ATS Now Offers Tank Car Requalification and Heavy Repair
What began as F & G shop certification to add complementary light repair services to the ATS railcar cleaning operation in 2008, has led to ATS making the leap to full shop certification. In October 2012, the Association of American Railroads issued Certificate Number QA-ATST confirming that the ATS Pasadena, Texas repair operation “has met the requirements of the Association of American Railroads Quality Assurance Program as specified in M-1003.” The facility is qualified for B24 Tank Car Repairs, B25 Freight Car Repairs over 85 Hours Labor and/or Wreck Damage, B26 Office Manual Rule 88 Repairs/Modifications, and C3 Tank Car Facility for Tank Car Qualifications, including HM-216 Qualification (among others). Copies of the certification documentation are available upon request.

ATS Utilizes Robotic Slurrying Process to Recover Solid Heels from Tank Cars
ATS was approached by a national company with a fleet of railcars containing solidified heels up to five feet deep in tank cars, which resulted in significant capacity loss for the customer’s freight shipments. The ATS facility was selected due to previous experience using mechanical, non-entry processes to remove solids and sludges from railcars and isotainers. A remote-operated vehicle (ROV) was inserted in the cars outfitted with specially designed solvent injectors and agitators. Progress was viewed via remote video to allow the ROV operator to adjust variables such as speed, direction and solvent flow to optimize mixing and heel removal. The slurry, once removed, was transported to the customer’s plant for further processing and recycling.

ATS Assists in Remediation of a Permitted Waste Treatment Facility
ATS was contracted to assist in the remediation of a local treatment, storage and disposal facility that had a compliance order to upgrade the condition of the facility prior to commencing operation as a new owner. ATS was selected due to the company’s expertise in filter press operation given the large amount of aqueous waste needing treatment onsite. The company quickly setup operation and met all project goals for effluent quality and timing in order to help the customer bring the facility online and in accordance with all criteria set forth by regulators. ATS field services teams also assisted in tank cleaning and other remediation activities onsite.

Rock Hill Capital Group Completes Majority Equity Purchase
Houston-based investment company, Rock Hill Capital Group, completed purchase of a majority stock interest in ATS on February 24, 2011. Rock Hill acquired ATS with the goal of assisting the management team execute specific growth strategies in the environmental and rail industries. Randy Hale, Founder and Managing Director at Rock Hill, stated “The ATS management team represents exactly what we look for in a partner, experts in the field with a proven track record of success in building a business.
